SIRE
Callaho’s LISSABON
168 cm | Licensed: Oldenburg, Hanoverian, Westphalian & SAWHS
Lissabon is a highly successful dual-purpose sire whose offspring have made a significant mark in both dressage and showjumping.
His son Lissaro van de Helle provides compelling evidence of the dressage potential within the Lissabon line. His young-horse record is remarkable:
• 2008: German Bundeschampion, 3-year-old dressage horses
• 2009: German Bundeschampion, 4-year-old dressage horses
• 2010: German Bundeschampion, 5-year-old dressage horses
• 2010: World Young Horse Championship silver medallist, 5-year-olds
Lissaro progressed to advanced/S-level dressage. Ridden by Claudia Rüscher during his Bundeschampion years and then later by Edward Gal.
His performance-test scores further demonstrate the versatility of the line: 9.52 for dressage and 8.79 for jumping. Lissaro’s dam is by Matcho AA, bringing Anglo-Arab blood and athleticism to a pedigree that is not conventionally modern dressage breeding.
While Lissabon’s best-documented international offspring are predominantly showjumpers, Lissaro is an exceptional example of his ability to produce serious dressage quality.

At the 2025 SA Toyota Derby, five of the 24 competitors were direct Lissabon offspring: Lindor, Lorenzo, Lamborghini, Lexington and L’Amour. Eight Lissabon progeny finished inside the top ten of their respective championship classes.
Liantos has taken the Lissabon line onto the international stage, competing at 1.50–1.55 m internationally in 2026, including second place in a CSIO3* 1.50 m class at Lisbon and Nations Cup competition at Sopot.
Lissabon’s Eventing Offspring

Laurus Nobilis MZH – CCI3*
Callaho Lisandor – CCI3*-S
Louis M achieved top international placings and a WBFSH World Eventing ranking.
LISSABON'S INTERNATIONAL OFFSPRING
Lissabon has an impressive European record considering that only 136 registered offspring were produced during his German breeding career.
From that relatively small population, 10 offspring reached 1.50–1.60 m, including:
Lisa – 1.50/1.60 m
Liss Royal – 1.50/1.60 m
Lissbonia – 1.50/1.60 m
Let’s Go HRH was sold at the Hanoverian Elite Auction for €130,000 and subsequently went to Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.
DAM SIRE
BENICIO | 170 cm
Benicio was Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2025, recognised for his outstanding influence on the breed and his ability to consistently produce progeny distinguished by type, stability and rideability.
He was also Bundeschampion as a six-year-old dressage horse.
DAM’S DAM SIRE
DE NIRO | 17hh
One of the most influential dressage sires of his generation, De Niro was WBFSH World No. 1 Dressage Sire five times and competed successfully at Grand Prix level himself. His offspring have achieved international success, with more than 86 licensed sons.
LIZARIO’S PEDIGREE
Lissabon × Benicio × De Niro brings together exceptional performance genetics from both disciplines, with a particularly strong concentration of proven dressage blood.
Lissabon contributes proven international showjumping performance through Lordanos → Landos / Sion / Contender, together with demonstrated dressage ability through Lissaro van de Helle.
LIZARIO’s dam line adds two generations of elite German dressage breeding:
Benicio → Belissimo M → Beltain
De Niro → Donnerhall
Lissabon has proven himself capable of producing international-level showjumpers as well as exceptional dressage quality. Combined with Benicio and De Niro on the maternal side, LIZARIO has a pedigree built for the modern sport horse.
Proven bloodlines. Exceptional potential. A future sire for both dressage and jumping.
